  • American Empire Obama, We Hardly Knew Ya - American Empire
Posted by MattC (Tuesday July 15 2008 @ 10:05AM EDT)
Let's be clear, since Fish Fry missed the point: Obama running to the center is no surprise. Tossing a bone or two the right to win that crucial white male vote is expected.

But is Obama going so far he will lose left votes to Nader, possibly even handing McCain the election?

The latest: Obama's criticism of the "surge" disappears.

I've previously stated that one of the Dem's biggest indications they don't know how to win elections was catering to the gun control maniacs. It hurt Gore in 2000. So good job Obama, taking the position backing the recent SCOTUS ruling on the 2nd Amendment.

But likewise, Kerry's position on the war likely cost him the 2004 election. Obama may fail to learn that lesson if he lets the Repugs bait him into a contest over who has the toughest, most unilateral, most clueless Foreign Policy positions.
