Limey Jones takes one last look at his old deck
Yep, this thing has got to go...
It probably seemed like a good idea at the time. The previous owner increased his deck space with a trap door but without a bilco, water drained through the deck and down the basement stairwell
Stick installed a Bilco door and reworked the frame. Monz and Jeff rebuilt the surface and installed new steps. Limey Jones inspects their craftsmanship...

Almost finished. We still need a privacy fence and a hand rail. Jeff and Monz were the quarterback and wide receiver who connected on a big pass play. Stick was the offensive linemen who held his block. Monz and Jeff got the glory while Stick worked in obscurity. Nobody ever looks at it, but you can't have a good deck without a great frame. Additional thanks to Cher, The Pragmatist, Harold, Diana and Bill "The Big Head" Mason ... If the GeoGiant could see our "lawn" he'd have a brain conniption. It'll be at least a year until our grass finally measures up to his standards. Until then, I have to keep him away from the house.

Jeff missed one more person in the "thanks" list - Sue. Without her kindly loaning us a suitable vehicle, we couldn't have picked up the wood or removed the old wood. We needed a ton of friend-help to pull this off. We plan to use it heavily for the next few months.

Agreed. From today: "It's hard to think of another president who lived in such meta-insulation. His rigidly controlled environment allows no chance encounters with anyone who disagrees. He never has to defend himself to anyone, and that is cognitively injurious. He's a populist who never meets people - an ordinary guy who clears brush, and brush is the only thing he talks to."
Yep.

Yowsers on the MD article... And increasing frustration with the status quo. Maybe I should listen to the wisdom of one of the Tuesday nighters: should the left be better armed? When dealing with wannabe cowboys, at any rate...
