  • American Empire Score This - American Empire

The Republicans may not be controlled by the Theocratic Right, but they are certainly willing to do its bidding. Each year the Pat Pobertson's Christian Coalition pushes an agenda and rates Congressional members based on their compliance. The result is the Christian Coalition Congressional Scorecard.

Members are rated on a scale from 0 to 100, from a Ted Kennedy to a Rick Santorum. The higher a member scores, the closer he gets to heaven. Note the masculine pronoun. Barbara Boxer couldn't find heaven with a map and a decade's worth of perfect Christian scores.

As the chart indicates, the Christian Coalition's agenda cuts like a wedge between red and blue. All Republicans managed to bury their noses between Pat Robertson's cheeks. The average Republican scored 90.3 while his blue counterpart averaged just 20.1. Nearly two-hundred members of God's Own Party voted for each piece of legislature in the Coalition's agenda. Freedom is on the march, I just don't like where it's headed...

I hear France is accepting new citizens. Don't like American politics? Then feel free to leave. But in all seriousness don't worry, I'm sure a Dem will be in office January 22, 2008. Everything will change then, NOT.

I didn't particularly care for Mr. Clinton, but my blood didn't simmer just below boiling for eight straight years. Rather than politics, I'd prefer to focus on what I believe is my natural calling: pure unadulatrated potty humor.
