Is Santorum Writing-Off Pennsylvania? - Santorum Watch

In an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette this week, Rick Santorum denied a potential White House run after Chimpy expires in 2008.
I'm not saying never, but it is my intention to get elected to the Senate and serve my term. If you talked to everybody who's thinking about running for president, they're working right now. They're lining up people, they're making visits to Iowa and New Hampshire this year and they're doing what's necessary to build that political and grass roots support. Let me be very candid. I'm not going to do any of that. If I travel around the country, which I intend to do, it's for one purpose: to raise money for my Senate race in 2006.
Oh really?

So who is New Media Communications - the company that registered santorum2008.org? They are an internet strategy company in charge of Santorum's 2006 Senate bid. Should he win that campaign and remain true to his word, Santorum would not be available for the White House until 2012. With Pennsylvania trending bluer, with a lesser known opponent already kicking his ass by 14 points the Senator from Virginia apparently realizes his days are numbered. But don't shed a tear for Rick Santorum. While he's willing to cut your Social Security benefits, he has no similar plans to touch those generous senate pensions.
