  • American Empire Blue State Tax Burden - American Empire
Posted by Jeff (Monday December 06 2004 @ 12:50PM EST)
President Bush's proposed tax overhaul rewards Jesus Land at the expense of the Blue perimeter:
Supporters of the change insist the disproportionate effect on blue states is a coincidence, but they acknowledge that the proposal could hurt most in states that voted against Bush. "Let me put it like this: It certainly isn't something that's a discouragement," said one prominent conservative. "Yes, we talked about this. The fact that it hits blue states is not something that's been missed among Republicans."

While fundies were busy projecting their image on Pat Tillman, his brother interjected a dose of reality:
Tillman's youngest brother, Rich, wore a rumpled white T-shirt, no jacket, no tie, no collar, and immediately swore into the microphone. He hadn't written anything, he said, and with the starkest honesty, he asked mourners to hold their spiritual bromides.

"Pat isn't with God,'' he said. "He's fscking dead. He wasn't religious. So thank you for your thoughts, but he's fscking dead.''

I hope Rich Tillman is still around when I'm fscking dead. He does a good ceremony.

Where is a Republican apologist to explain why this increase in taxation is somehow consistent with conservatism?

What I want to find is a conservative who's surprised that four years of borrow and spend politics will result in a tax increase.

No real conservative would be. That is why we didn't vote for Bush.

Bush got hammered, by liberals, for giving tax cuts to the rich. Now liberals are pissed that he is taxing the rich. WTF. Make up your mind

Um, the issue is local tax burden. The Northeast and California have higher local taxes than most of the country. Why? Cos we're footing the bill for your Red State asses.
