And So It Goes - Blog Day Afternoon

 - BUSH: I'll work with allies. I'll work with friends. We'll continue to build strong coalitions. But I will never turn over our national security decisions to leaders of other countries.
Oh really?
-
I'm standing in line at counter where the next person is called numerically. A machine dispenses tabs with numbers on perforated slips of paper. Pull the lever and a tab appears. Tear it off and assume a place in line. We're good little Germans in the Blue State of Pennsylvania. We like order.
So a kid runs through the door. He beelines right for the number dispenser. Grungy little fingers grab the lever and pull A ZILLION TIMES! He rips off a large strip. Then his father appears. He sees the kid with a large strip of numbers. He says, "Did you get enough numbers there, buddy?" and pats him on the head. They get into another line where the numbers aren't necessary. A cashier and some customers are forced to straighten out the mess.

You Are a Snarky Blogger! |

You've got a razor sharp wit that bloggers are secretly scared of.
And that's why they read your posts as often as they can! |
Not only am I "snarky" but I appear to be a hot chick with no chest. Now that the election is over, we can get around to things that really matter: Fat people in SUVs, bratty kids who drive me nuts, reasons why the Jets will blow it, fundamentalist nutjob flat-earthers who pray hourly for the Rapture, television personalities who should be cracked up-side the head, sideline babes and alpine skiing!

Speaking of the Jets. How is the Jets run defense at the line? J. Lewis likes to run between the tackles. He was running more to the left tackle but now due to injuries he moves to the right. How are the linebackers and corners at stopping the RB? Baltimore likes to pitch the ball the outside to Lewis after he has a full head of steam. I have seen him drag many a safety or corner that shifted up to jam the receiver after the ball was snapped. How tall are the Jets corners? Usually the long ball goes down field, the receiver and the defender stop, wait for the ball to get there, and then it becomes a jump ball. The number one and two receivers for the Jet game should be - Moore 6’6” and Taylor 6’1” which doesn’t mean a lot but if you have short corners….hey the sun shines on a dogs a$$$ every once an while …right.
How are the Jets special teams? Baltimore seems to have a keeper with return man BJ Sams. He averages good field position, which does not mean a lot for the Ravens. Aside from returning punts, Sams has a good eye for the ball and he is fast. With every punt, Sams has the potential to get down field and down the ball close to the end zone which is when the D is most effective.
As usual Baltimore will need you to make a mistake on Offense which seems more likely with a back up QB. I haven’t seen the odds yet but I feel much better with Carter in. What do you see happening in this game???

The Jets rushing defense is really solid. Through eight games, they've only allowed two hundred yard rushers. They're particularly stout up the middle with Ferguson and Roberts. Their linebackers are fast. When teams try to stretch them wide, they just string the play out of bounds.
New York's rushing offense was ranked second going into last week. But Chad Pennington played as big a role in that as Curtis Martin. The X factor is not Quincy Carter, it's offensive coordinator Paul Hackett. It might take him three games to realize his QB is not Chad Pennington. He'll make the necessary adjustments after Pennington returns.
Here's what I see happening. Krazy and I will get there around 10:30 am. We'll fire up the grill. I'm thinking lambchops (or lambsicles as I like to call them), we'll have a couple beers each then enter the stadium. As each Baltimore player is introduced, the Jet nation will shout "SUCKS!" Given Baltimore's fragile physche, that should be enough to unnerve them.

I don’t see Martin running all over the place – he may, Holmes did well but I see him less than 100 yards. The question is can Cater dink & dunk little 5 to 10 yard passes down field consistently? This type of play frustrates the D and they over compensate downfield which opens up the run or they over-pursue the QB and let the tightend get loose in the backfield which mean TD if the pass is complete. I saw the Chiefs dink and dunk all day long and it killed Baltimore. However I have seen the Baltimore secondary make a lot picks on QBs that tried this strategy.

Did you see my new ski? I'm like a little tiny school girl with perky little breasts whose all giddy at Christmas. (I really need to hang out with more skiers...)
Gamewise, I'm most concerned with my lambchop marinade:
Apple cider vinegar
Brown sugar
Fresh mint leaves

I'm no fan of the Ravens, but I think it is going to be tough to see the Jets move the ball against this D without Pennington in the game.
The Chiefs game was certainly the exception this year. The Eagles struggled with their starting RB out against the Ravens and I see possibly the same thing happening to the Jets with no real passing threat. Carter shouldn't put fear into the hearts of any secondary.
The Ravens are tough against the run, currently giving up less than 100 yards a game.
On the flip side, the Baltimore O is wretched. I think this will be one of those 17-14 games with one turnover making teh real difference.

The Chiefs were a good team that couldn’t get a break. I did not expect to win that game. The Eagles are the typical over-rated, high-flying NFC team. I am not saying they don’t have talent but look at the rest of the NFC. I watched a limping Raven team go into Philly and almost beat them. Boller lost that game on the final drive. I think the rest of the league raised an eyebrow after that game. That following Monday all the talking heads that were on the Philly bandwagon jumped ship and went to the Steelers. On all the Philly boards it was…oh everyone has a bad game and then the Steelers crushed them.

I agree that the Eagles are overrated this year. They've had some significant injuries, but so has nearly every other team. The Birds luck out by being in an exceptionally weak division in an even weaker conference.
I don't think the Chiefs are good. If anything, they are inconsistent with their performances. They destroy another overrated NFC team one week (Falcons) then blow another game that they should walk away with the next.
I think for this week the Jets/Ravens game will be a fairly evenly matched contest now that Chad is out of the picture.

You first statement is sort of disturbing.
Your second statement…..well I did hear that during the Packer/Jet game last year you wore a dress coat.
